Empowering Girl's Project
Recent research proves that more girls than ever are being groomed in gangs only to be sexually exploited by the gang members.
We work with young women at risk of becoming involved with or being exploited by gangs in Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest. We run training and mentoring to build on their life skills, including conflict resolution, decision-making, anger management, leadership and empathy. This programme will enables the young women to become Peace Ambassadors so they can support others and act as positive role models, building a safer and stronger community. The programme was funded by the People’s Project an ITV initiative in partnership the Big Lottery Fund and the National Lottery.
We are happy to report that this project has received a new round of funding and will be expanded to reach four schools next year.
